How the Chase Sapphire Reserve® $300 dining credit works

The Chase Sapphire Reserve® gives you up to $300 a year in dining statement credits — but only at the restaurants in its Exclusive Tables program. Here’s exactly how it works, and how to find eligible restaurants near you.

What you get

How to trigger it

Pay with your Sapphire Reserve at a restaurant in the Exclusive Tables program and the credit posts automatically. You do not need to reserve a table, enroll, or pay through OpenTable to earn it — paying with the card at an eligible restaurant is enough. (Booking the premium Exclusive Tables reservations is a separate perk that does require adding your card to OpenTable.)

Which restaurants qualify

The credit only works at the Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables restaurants — a curated list of 414+ spots across 50 U.S. metros. It is not a credit you can use at any restaurant. The list mirrors OpenTable and changes over time, so it is worth confirming on OpenTable before you go.

Do gift cards count?

At some Exclusive Tables restaurants, buying a gift card on-site is coded as dining and triggers the credit — a popular way to “use” the credit without a full meal. It varies by location and isn’t guaranteed by Chase. The community-verified list at CSR Dining tracks which have worked; on our map you can filter to 🎁 gift-card eligible restaurants. Always confirm before buying.

Frequently asked questions

How much is the Chase Sapphire Reserve dining credit?
Up to $300 per calendar year — up to $150 from January through June and another $150 from July through December. Each half is use-it-or-lose-it; the unused portion does not roll over to the next period.
Which restaurants does the dining credit work at?
Only restaurants in the Chase Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables program — a curated list of 300+ restaurants across about 50 U.S. metros, surfaced through OpenTable. It is not a general dining credit that works anywhere. You can see every eligible restaurant near you on our free map.
Do I have to book through OpenTable to get the credit?
No. The statement credit posts automatically when you pay with your Sapphire Reserve card at an eligible Exclusive Tables restaurant — you do not have to make a reservation or pay through OpenTable. Booking the premium “Exclusive Tables” reservations does require adding your card to OpenTable, but that is separate from earning the credit.
Do I need to activate or enroll the credit?
No activation is required to earn the dining credit. Just pay with your Chase Sapphire Reserve at an eligible restaurant.
Can I split the credit across more than one restaurant?
Yes. Within each six-month window you can use the credit at multiple eligible restaurants until you reach the $150 cap.
Do restaurant gift cards count toward the credit?
Sometimes. At some Exclusive Tables restaurants, buying a gift card on-site is coded as dining and triggers the credit — but it varies by location and is not guaranteed by Chase. The community-verified list at CSR Dining tracks which have worked; always confirm before buying a gift card to use the credit.
